Matrix to Present at 6th National Conference on Coastal and Estuarine Habitat Restoration, on October 20-25, 2012: Restoring Ecosystems Strengthening Communities

Florham Park, NJ - Matrix New World Engineering, Inc. (Matrix), as part of the Restore the Earth Foundation, Inc. (REF) team, is pleased to announce their submission of an abstract for a poster entitled "Performance Quantification and Cost Benefit Analysis of Gulf Saver® Bag Initiative as a Practical, Cost Effective, and Scientifically Sound Restoration Methodology of Oiled Marsh Sediment" has been accepted! The poster will be presented by REF and Lawrence Malizzi, Vice President of Matrix at the 6th National Conference on Coastal and Estuarine Habitat Restoration in Tampa, Florida.

The poster provides an in depth scientific analysis of the goals for supporting marsh restoration in the Gulf Region. REF utilizes the Gulf Savers® bag, which was first deployed at Popcorn Beach, Pass a Loutre Wildlife Management Area (WMA), Venice, LA. The self-contained bag is composed of a biodegradable shell filled with native plants with site-specific custom mixed feed and nutrients. Matrix has provided the monitoring support for the project. Since the deployment in December 2010, it is evident that the Gulf Savers® bags are effectively working to revitalize the marshlands of Louisiana.
